The Region

Ölüdeniz, the town takes its name from the unique Blue Lagoon located a few hundred meters away from the town. It stretches along the coast line for a few kilometers, however the most popular part of it is the lagoon itself which unfolds a stunning mountain backdrop covered with pine trees. This area is designated as a national reserve and you need pay a small entrance free, but you definitely get your money’s worth, besides there are areas available for a small picnic. Stunning views of the Blue Lagoon will take your breath away while having your delicious food in rooftop restaurants of Ölüdeniz.

Being a district of Muğla Province, Fethiye is located in the western part of the Mediterranean Region of Turkey. Its surface area is 3,059 km² which makes it the largest one among the districts of Muğla Province. It is surrounded by the province of Antalya in the east and southeast, the Mediterranean Sea in the south, southwest and west, Dalaman district in the northwest and provinces of Burdur and Denizli in the north. Ancient city of Telmessos is located in Fethiye district.
